I sense no bitterness or astringency. It does have a good umami flavor. I taste a subtle hint of seaweed in the finish but no grassiness. It's obvious that eith the price you won't be getting the absolute best ceremonial grade, but it is definitely smooth with nothing unpleasant and a nice bright green. Not deep green but veey bright. Perfect as an everyday especially if you use quite a lot. I usually use matcha every day in a latte or lemonade and I like to load up quite a lot of it, so this is absolutely perfect for that. For what you pay, definitely very satisfied.
