A mellow and approachable latte that pairs the roasted aroma of hojicha with the gentle sweetness of maple syrup. Easy to prepare without complicated techniques, this recipe is designed for cafés of any style. Using a milk steamer creates a beautiful two-layer presentation, enhancing both flavor and appearance.

Ingredients
-
4 g hojicha powder
-
30 g hot water
-
1 tbsp maple syrup
-
120 g milk
Directions
Add hot water to hojicha powder and stir well, then mix in the maple syrup.
Heat the milk with a milk steamer.
Pour the steamed milk into a glass, then slowly pour the hojicha paste from the center to create layers.
Recipe Note
The roasted fragrance of hojicha pairs naturally with the soft sweetness of maple syrup, making this latte highly drinkable.
If milk is heated in the microwave, the texture will be denser (without froth), and it won’t layer into two tones as shown in the photo. In that case, slightly increase the amount of milk for balance.
